THE VILLAS

The ten villas at Samana are built in traditional Balinese style offering you total privacy yet giving you the full services of a hotel. As you step into your villa compound, you will appreciate the spacious layout your villa provides. Each villa is tastefully decorated to evoke a sense of peace ensuring that you feel totally relaxed when you stay at Villa Samana.

Every villa has it`s own private pool and unique views of the river or rice fields. A CD player, coffee and tea facilities and a well stocked mini bar ensures you are suitably comfortable.

Villa Cempaka (1 Bedroom Suite), our honeymoon villa resting above the Ayung River is a picture of unruffled calm. Overlooking the vast expanse of the Sayan valley, the spacious swimming pool`s magical quality is further enhanced by the dappled play of the ever-changing light off the water.

Adjacent is the sun-deck with a Champagne-cooling fridge comfortably within handy reach. The dining terrace is surrounded by lovely gardens.

Flanked by lush tropical foliage, the open-air ground floor of the villa accommodates the living room and sheltered dining area while the private kitchenette lends itself to the optional and exclusive butler service. Spend the afternoon in the cozy study which faces a small valley behind the villa.

The upper floor honeymoon suite is furnished in warm tones of bamboo, maka and timber, creating an oasis of well-being and Zen. This and the adjoining bathroom both have amazing views of the Ayung River.

Pool Duplex 2 Bedroom Kamboja Villa is our solitary villa with 2 en suite bedrooms. Traditional Balinese interiors subtly lit with amber lighting intensify sleep comfort with plush bedding and downy pillows. Be lulled to peaceful slumber by the soft night sounds of nature and the gentle whisper of the Ayung River coursing by beneath.

Restaurant
A member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs Bali, our Pondok Restaurant serves up an sumptious menu of gourmet fare and local delights. You will also be able to order from an impressive list of international wines. Complimentary afternoon tea is served daily from 4 - 5pm.

River Terace
Read a book or take a snooze together on the comfortable Bale, the River Terrace is a place to retreat to for a relaxing afternoon. Or have a romantic candlelight dinner there if you wish.

Library, Boutique & Internet
A selection of novels and books of Bali are available at our library. A wide CD collection is also at hand at no cost. Jewellery, Indonesian artifacts and various arts and crafts are on display and for sale in our boutique, the Warung Semana. Check your email and tell your friends back home what a wonderful time you are having.

Art Gallery
The villas at Villa Semana Hotel serve as an art gallery for well-known Balinese artist Gede Sudarma . Guests may enjoy his art while they stay at our hotel. All art works are for sale.

Shuttle Bus Service
Villa Samana is conveniently located 10 minutes from the arts and cultural town of Ubud. Free shuttle bus service to and from Ubud town is available from our hotel.

Mountain Bikes
Two 21-speed Shimano equipped mountain bikes are on stand by to explore the surrounding villages and countryside.

Thoughtful Spares
A selection of ladies shawls are available to keep warm during the rather cool nights in the restaurant and an assortment of reading glasses in various strengths are on hand should you need them to read the menu better in the evening restaurant light.

Authentic Balinese Experience
All our staff at Villa Semana are Balinese and live in the villages surrounding Ubud. In fact, many of them come from Samana Village where we are located. They all take part in village activities such as temple ceremonies, traditional dance and when they go home, continue to live their lives untainted by the changes brought about by tourism to the rest of Bali. When they come to work, they bring with them their traditional values and practices which you will no doubt experience when they greet and serve you. It is this that makes Villa Samana so special.
